Team Heawekooo is an independent, family-driven basketball team born from lifelong friendships and deep community ties on Oahu. Led by a head coach with over a decade of youth mentoring experience through the Lakeside PAL program, the roster features a close-knit group of 6th graders who have been classmates since first grade. Formed by uniting younger siblings of former players and children of close friends, this grassroots program operates as a true *ohana*. Parents and coaches work hand-in-hand to provide consistent, highly supportive opportunities for these keiki to compete in local circuits like the YBOA Winter League. The team's mission extends far beyond the scoreboard, focusing on positive character building and future readiness. The coaching staff is deeply invested in preparing these student-athletes for the high school level, with a specific goal of grooming them for private school opportunities.
